Get started with Canopy.

Canopy packages are productized capabilities from Third Vector. Each one bundles a Claude Skill with a workshop deck, a facilitator guide, and a start-here guide, so you can run a serious piece of strategic work yourself.

Skills work on every plan, including Free. You just switch on one capability (step 1 below).

Claude Pro, with Cowork

Cowork is the Claude desktop app, and where Canopy packages work best (more on that in step 3). Claude Pro is around €18 per month.

Turn on file creation

Canopy packages create real documents, so Claude needs file creation switched on.

  1. 01In Claude, go to Settings > Capabilities.
  2. 02Enable Code execution and file creation.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, this is enabled by your organisation's admin in organisation settings rather than by you.

Install your Canopy Skill

Each package includes its Skill as a ready-to-upload ZIP file.

  1. 01In Claude, go to Customize > Skills.
  2. 02Click the + button, then Create skill.
  3. 03Choose Upload a skill and select the ZIP file from your package.
  4. 04Toggle the Skill on.
The Skill stays private to your account. You can toggle it off or remove it at any time.

Choose where to work, Chat or Cowork

Both run the Skill and produce real documents. The difference is the workflow.

Quick, one-off results

Claude runs the Skill and creates the document for you to download. Best for a quick, one-off result. On the Free plan, expect tighter usage limits on a long session.

cowork · pro and up · recommended

A real working session

A folder on your own computer holds every document the package produces, and every revision, across sessions. It suits real back-and-forth, and lets you carry work straight into the next step, for example turning a memo into a pitch deck or a go-to-market plan in the same workspace.

Cowork is part of Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. It runs in the Claude desktop app. See Get started with Claude Cowork.

Run your package

Open the Start Here guide inside your package for the specifics. In short:

  1. 01Fill in the short starter prompt the package gives you.
  2. 02Open the workshop deck and follow the facilitator guide.
  3. 03Tell Claude to run the Skill, then let it interview you, draft, and pressure-test the work.

You finish with real, editable documents you can use straight away.

Troubleshooting

The Skills section is missing or greyed out.

Code execution is not enabled. Turn it on in Settings > Capabilities (Free, Pro, Max), or ask your admin to enable it (Team, Enterprise).

Claude is not using the Skill.

Check that the Skill is toggled on in Customize > Skills, and try being explicit in your request, for example "use the investment memo skill."

The upload failed.

Make sure you are uploading the ZIP from your package and that the file is not damaged. Re-download it from your purchase link if needed.

You are hitting limits on a long session.

Free and lower tiers have tighter usage limits. For a full workshop, Claude Pro or higher is the smoother experience.

a note on safety

Only install skills from sources you trust. Canopy skills come from Third Vector. As with any skill, you are welcome to open the files and review them before enabling.
